THE REAL ESTATE BUSINESS IS IN CONTINUOUS GROWTH FROM LA PAZ TO LOS CABOS

The Real Estate success of Baja California Sur (BCS) is directly linked to its positive tourism results, assured Luis Araiza.

The former head of State Tourism and owner of the Realty World franchise in La Paz, Luis Araiza, said that the price of beachfront land is very similar in Cerritos, Los Cabos, Todos Santos or Cabo del Este. What causes the big differences are the characteristics of the buildings, the quality of the services and the brands.

In the luxury market, prices range from $3,000: built in “not-so-high-end” sites, up to $20,000 as seen for ultra luxury brands like St. Regis. Lands without construction you can find from prices from eight to a thousand dollars per square meter.

In La Paz there are properties at lower prices compared to Los Cabos, maybe 20-30% less, but there you can find higher quality construction.

There are also other destinations such as Barriles, La Ventana and El Sargento, which are growing from a Real Estate perspective. Santiago and other historic towns are also interesting, but people are looking for places close to the sea or even sea view; surely in the future they will also come for these locations, as happened with Flora Farms, where investors with high purchasing power have bought properties, even if the landscape is entirely made of desert with hills and mountains.

Luis Araiza also mentioned that pre-sale is a successful model for Baja California Sur, and is still a very good option to acquire properties at lower prices.
